Vincent Van Duysen has made its debut in the Mutina team designing three new collections: Kosei, a range of ceramic surfaces specifically conceived for floors and “grand” architecture, Renga, a 3D element that can be used to create partition walls as well as a decorative object in its own right, and Yama, a new Mutina Edition. The collections reflect Van Duysen’s creative approach, combining the languages of architecture, interior design and art, while focusing on functionality and durability.

“We’ve been knowing each other for quite some time and have always maintained a friendly relationship over the years. Mutina and I share the same passion for art, that’s what connects us. After all these years, we finally found the right moment to start collaborating.”

On the occasion of Cersaie 2022, Mutina renovates the collaboration with Tokujin Yoshioka presenting, among the other projects, an extension of the historical Phenomenon collection, enriched with four new colours and an unprecedented glossy finish. Added to this are Botanica, a new range of ceramic surfaces inspired by natural elements and textures, and Phenomenon Plate, forming part of Mutina Editions

“In collaboration with Mutina, I have pondered on designing tiles which express the textures of materials derived from the nature. My intention is not to manipulate the appearance of nature, but to create a design, which stirs one’s heart and imagination and remain deep in one’s memory.”

The Editions project features three new collections of ceramic objects, linked to the world of auteur interiors: El Lobo by Patricia Urquiola, Yama by Vincent Van Duysen and Phenomenon Plate by Tokujin Yoshioka. Each piece is handcrafted in Italy, stamped and signed in a sequential manner to enhance its exclusivity. They are unique creations meant to last and to reach every corner of the world, but only one by one.
